Green Room?
Just so we are all on the same page with everything. Our next meeting is this coming Monday, as usual. We need to have completed Ch.9 and 10 and all of the corresponding questions in the workbook before then.
Please have this all read and done so we can have a meaningful meeting that night.
Hope to see you all there.
... Oh yeah, thanks in advance for being prepared! :)
Hey everyone,
It's looking like we are not going to meet on Monday the 13th.
Jon and Maryanne are still out of town, Heather and Krisite will be out of town as well, AND I will be having my surgery, so I wont be there either... so basically almost the entire group will not be available.
For Monday the 20th we will be reading the last 3 chapters of the section 2 in the book. We completed the first 2 chapters of the section now we have to finish the last 3, and we have to read and answer the corresponding questions in the workbook.
Here are is what we need to do before the next meeting:
- In the book we are reading pages 61 - 91
- In the workbook we are starting around page 36 and ending on 55
We have 2 weeks to do this so that should be plenty of time... Thanks in advance for being prepared!
I hope that all makes sense... If not email me, Justin, Heather, or Kristie for more info.
See you all on the 20th!!
Hi everyone,
The assignment for this week is in part 2 of the book. Read chapter 4 and 5 and complete the corresponding questions in the work book and be ready to contribute to some great discussion and conversation.
We have decided to postpone our outreach trip to San Fransisco due to the fact that not enough people could commit to going, and it overlapped with VBS...We will reschedule when the Moore's get back.
Me and Justin wanted to know if anyone was interested in doing something fun with everyone from the Green Room after church on Saturday? We were thinking of going bowling or something like that. If it sounds like something you would be into lets meet after church and make a plan.
Have a great weekend!
Natalie
For tonight we are meeting at the same time same place as always. Jon and Maryanne are our of town so we are on our own but we plan to meet as usual and finish what we planned last week which is all of part one. Make sure you bring both your book and workbook and be ready to begin at 7pm sharp!
See you all tonight!
Here is the assignment for Monday July 23rd.
Please complete the entire first part of the book.
Complete the corresponding pages for section 1 in the workbook. Do your best to answer all the questions... this makes for better discussion.
I hope to see you all on Monday at 7pm sharp!
So our first meeting together to discuss our fabulous book, "The Pressure's Off" was last night and it was great!!! I think this book is going to challenge all of us to check our hearts and our intentions as to why and how we follow Christ. I can taste the end result and I'm excited about the transformation already taking place. There's nothing we can do except seek the PRESENCE of GOD!
The following is a quote that I've had around for a while but never really understood it until now... this is what the book is talking about. This should be our goal. There's "do A to get B" about it... just basking in the presence of God!
“As He lives inside us He promises to transform us from the inside out, but the changing is not our goal—it is a by-product of the adventure. The beauty of this reality is we are released from the obligation to change ourselves. We do not have to pretend to be someone better. We no longer have to find our own way to reach the face of God, or to forgive others, or to escape addiction, loneliness, or lack. The Spirit—the Presence—of God enters the inner being of the Follower and begins to rebuild the heart from the inside out. The rebuilding, healing presence of God reshapes even our motives so we can live and love like we have always imagined. The only discipline the Follower has to commit himself to is the work of remaining in the presence of God and enjoying the relationship. God performs the transformation.”
